Artist's Description

I bought this film last year. I was very lucky to find color infrared film. It was out of date and re-rolled from longer rolls. I bought one of these rolls from Film Photography Project which is an organization that promotes the use of film photography. This film was a Kodak Ektachrome Aerial Infrared film I was able to still purchase. This film is no longer manufactured so it can only be bought out of date and is hard to find. Try e-bay or the Film Photography Project. You have to shoot this film with older cameras. The newer film cameras have all sorts of electronic automated devises that might fog the film. I used an old manual Nikon F2 SLR with a Tamron 28-70mm f/3.5-f/4.5 zoom. I walked over to Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis and took this photo. I also added a Kodak #15 Wratten yellow filter which gives more color saturation then the recommended #13 Wratten. The film was processed by a company called The Darkroom in E-6. I let them scan it on a Noritsu Koki film scanner.

About Lonnie Paulson

Lonnie Paulson

It was alchemy. I ventured forth to turn silver halide crystals into gold. Like all photographers I started out as a hobbyist. From home darkrooms to industrial photo labs and in various studios and on-location as a commercial photographer. I have assisted many professional photographers, worked in various labs and studios. My education was from Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo,Iowa. There I received my associate of applied arts degree in photography. I am an alumni of the Winona School of Professional Photography, formally sponsored...
