Artist's Description
I wanted to photograph the inside of a bell pepper. I bought a green pepper, because I figured the color green would give an extraterrestrial look to this nebulous interpretation of a green pepper. Maybe you could use your imagination and picture the seeds here as eggs inside an extraterrestrial nursery or womb.
To photograph this image I used a Nikon D7200 with a Nikkor 60mm f/2.8 macro lens. For lighting, my main light was a LED light box balanced for daylight that was used as a back-light which was transmitted through the translucent skin of the pepper. The other light was a daylight balanced flood placed in front but at an angle even with the pepper. The exposure was at ISO 100, 1/4sec at f/13 and a tripod with cable release was used. I further enhanced the green color in Photoshop.
About Lonnie Paulson

From home darkrooms to industrial photo labs and in various studios and on-location as a commercial photographer. I have assisted many professional photographers, worked in various labs and studios. My education was from Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo,Iowa. There I received my associate of applied arts degree in photography. I am an alumni of the Winona School of Professional Photography, formally sponsored...
