While driving through Colorado looking for some gas we found this familiar dinosaur out for a stroll. I photographed this image with a Nikon D7200 and a Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-f/5.6 lens. The focal length of the zoom was set at 25mm. My exposure was ISO 200 at 1/200sec at f/8. When I brought this image into Photoshop I eliminated a fence in the background and any other items I saw that had a human presence. To make this bright green "Sinclair" dinosaur more realistic, I did some color grading with Photoshop's "Color Lookup."
Photography has been my life. I was always curious about what went on inside the camera and in the darkroom. Photography was something mysterious--a little bit of magic plus a little bit of science. It was alchemy. I ventured forth to turn silver halide crystals into gold. Like all photographers I started out as a hobbyist. From home darkrooms to industrial photo labs and in various studios and on-location as a commercial photographer. I have assisted many professional photographers, worked in various labs and studios.
