The Carefree Desert Garden Sundial in Arizona is the largest sundial in the United States. It occupies a beautiful desert garden. This desert garden is located on the eastern side of the Phoenix valley. I photographed this scene with a Nikon D7200 with a Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5-f/4.5 ultra-wide zoom. The zoom was set at 21mm. A polarizer was attached to make the blue sky pop. The exposure was 1/160sec at f/8 with an ISO of 200.
Photography has been my life. I was always curious about what went on inside the camera and in the darkroom. Photography was something mysterious--a little bit of magic plus a little bit of science. It was alchemy. I ventured forth to turn silver halide crystals into gold. Like all photographers I started out as a hobbyist. From home darkrooms to industrial photo labs and in various studios and on-location as a commercial photographer. I have assisted many professional photographers, worked in various labs and studios.
