Artist's Description

I took this photo with a Nikon D90 with a Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-f/5.6 zoom lens set at 30mm. Exposure was 1/160 sec at f/9 at ISO 200 with a polarizer to help punch up the sky. I converted this image in Photoshop to black and white and used a yellow contrast filter to deepen the sky and water more and to lighten the light areas of the rock. I then brown toned it. When I had a darkroom my first toner I used was Kodak Brown Toner. This photo brings back those memories of toning in my darkroom. It's a lot better in Photoshop--no rotten egg smell from the toner.

From home darkrooms to industrial photo labs and in various studios and on-location as a commercial photographer. I have assisted many professional photographers, worked in various labs and studios. My education was from Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo,Iowa. There I received my associate of applied arts degree in photography. I am an alumni of the Winona School of Professional Photography, formally sponsored...
