While in the forest on the West Fork Trail I came across this massive plate of red rock. This red rock is all over Sedona, Arizona. I photographed this image with a Nikon D7200 DSLR with a Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-f/5.6 zoom with a polarizing filter. The focal length was set at 21mm. The exposure was ISO 400 1/320sec at f/7.1.
Photography has been my life. I was always curious about what went on inside the camera and in the darkroom. Photography was something mysterious--a little bit of magic plus a little bit of science. It was alchemy. I ventured forth to turn silver halide crystals into gold. Like all photographers I started out as a hobbyist. From home darkrooms to industrial photo labs and in various studios and on-location as a commercial photographer. I have assisted many professional photographers, worked in various labs and studios.
