I uploaded a Kodalith negative into Photoshop inverted it so I had a positive image and used a color adjustment layer in Photoshop to create a magenta color and used a blending mask to blend the color with the glassware. I did a complete series of glasses in the CMYK color space. I camera I used was a 4x5" Calumet view camera with a Caltar f/4.8 lens. The film was Kodak Kodalith graphic arts film which has an ISO of 8 under tungsten lights.
Photography has been my life. I was always curious about what went on inside the camera and in the darkroom. Photography was something mysterious--a little bit of magic plus a little bit of science. It was alchemy. I ventured forth to turn silver halide crystals into gold. Like all photographers I started out as a hobbyist. From home darkrooms to industrial photo labs and in various studios and on-location as a commercial photographer. I have assisted many professional photographers, worked in various labs and studios.
