Description
This fork pictured here is a clear plastic fork. The colors are a result of double polarization of light. Here is the setup for this photo. I set a LED white light box rated for daylight color temperature under my copy stand. I mounted a Nikon 7200 camera on my copy stand. The lens used was a Nikkor 60mm f/2.8 macro lens. A linear polarizing filter sheet was placed on the light box. The clear fork was positioned on the light box over the filter. black strips of paper masked out the rest of the light. A circular polarizing filter was placed on the lens and adjusted to maximum polarizing effect producing the image you see here. To prevent any movement during exposure I set my camera shutter's self timer for a 2 second delay. My exposure was ISO 100 at 1/5sec at f/16.
