Description
Simple primary colors add boldness when added to a neutral background. Here is how I did this photo. I elevated a sheet of glass to be used as a table to set these glasses on. A black background was laid over the glass table with pre-cut holes to let light through. I set the glasses above the holes. Under the glass table and set three mini spots, one under each glass. I made my own colored filters by coloring wax paper red, blue and yellow. These home-made filters were set under the glass table. I cut nine strips of colored paper, three red, blue, and yellow. These strips were placed in front of the setup to act as reflectors. I aimed three mini spots in front lighting the strips of colored paper making the color strips of paper a reflection that would reflect onto the surface of the glasses in front. This photo was made on assignment for my photography class. Camera: 4x5” Calumet View Lens: Caltar 215mm f/4.8 Film: 4x5” Kodak Ektachrome Professional Tungsten Exposure: ISO 50 shutter speed and aperture unknown
